How to Build a Comfortable Gaming and Home Office Setup
A good setup should be comfortable for hours, whether you are gaming or working. Start with these basics.
Pick the right desk
Measure your space first. Gaming desks come in different widths, so choose one that fits your monitor or monitors with room for a keyboard and mouse. A standing desk lets you switch between sitting and standing during the day.
Invest in a supportive chair
Look for lumbar support, adjustable armrests and a seat you can recline. Your feet should rest flat on the floor and your knees should be at a comfortable angle.
Set your monitor height
The top of your screen should sit around eye level, about an arm's length away. A monitor arm or mount frees up desk space and makes this easy.
Control the cables
Cable clips, winders and desk organizers keep wires tidy and your desk uncluttered.
Add the finishing touches
- A mechanical keyboard and a comfortable mouse
- Good lighting that reduces eye strain
- A portable monitor if you want a second screen
